Capcom graced players with the inclusion of the Arch Tempered Elder Dragons: Kirin and Vaal Hazak, back in June and July respectively. Now in August we will see Arch Tempered Teostra, and in September Kushala Daora will be arriving. Lots of youtube videos exist on the best strategy to take for this fight so I won't go into that because its an easy search but three things you should really put on whatever build you decide to run for this fight is:

Kulu Ya Ku Helmet. The event quest for this helmet is live for the appreciation event and it has one purpose and one purpose only…it has the skill called Transporter. This is a skill that you would find handy in early parts of the game that require you to delivery eggs and those eggs drag your movement down a ton which makes you easy prey for whatever monster you stole the eggs from. Well this skill grants you increased speed and mobility while carrying heavy objects such as eggs AND cannonballs.

This skill is especially important for the Zorah fight because you will be carrying cannon balls and instead of having to dodge roll because you are weighed down by the weight of the cannon ball which is still slow IMO, this skill allows you to move quickly and grants you that same speed and mobility that it would if you were carrying an egg. faster movement with cannon balls equals faster loading which equals faster firing of said cannon ball which equals faster DPS and seeing as how you only have 25 minutes for this fight, you need to be quick. It is night and day how good this skill works in this encounter.

Next, you are going to want to equip two heavy artillery jewels to whatever build you are running, im sure you can sacrifice something for these jewels because the only thing you will encounter in this fight that will require you to use your weapon (other than the crystals) is the nergigante and its not a tempered nerg so if you have even half decent defense stats, you will be fine with replacing two deco slots. You want these two jewels because these two jewels give you a 20% damage increase when firing the ballista and cannons. with out these two decos, your cannon damage will be 180, with the decos equipped, your cannon damage will be 218.

so you add faster movement with cannon balls which means you load faster and shoot faster and you add that extra 20 percent damage to the speed of which you will be loading and firing and it really does make all the difference in the world. If you have friends to play with, this may not apply but if youre a solo player shooting SOS flares, you will really help your team out and just imagine if your whole team was running the same easy to acquire items…you will beat this fight with ease.
