The Evolution Championship Series known as Evo, is an annual esports event that focuses on fighting games. The tournaments are open and use the double elimination format; as with Super Battle Opera, contestants travel from all over the world to participate, most notably from Japan. The first Evolution was held as a Super Street Fighter II Turbo and Street Fighter Alpha 2 tournament called the Battle by the Bay, it changed its name to Evo in 2002. Every successive tournament has seen an increase of attendees, it has been held at various venues across the Las Vegas Valley since 2005. Evo was founded by Tom Cannon known for his work on Shoryuken.com, a fighting game website. The tournament started as 'Battle by the Bay', a 40-man Super Street Fighter II Turbo and Street Fighter Alpha 2 tournament in 1996 in Sunnyvale, California moving to its recurring venue in the Las Vegas Valley; the event changed its name to Evolution Championship Series or EVO for short in 2002. Over time, the tournament grew, recording over one thousand participants in 2009.
The tournament used arcade cabinets, but in 2004 the decision was made to move all games over to their console versions, to no small amount of controversy. During the transition to games on the seventh generation consoles, most games were played on a PlayStation 3, though Evo 2014 ran most games on the Xbox 360. Aside from the official tournaments, there is a 'BYOC' area in which many different games are played and side tournaments are held. In 2002, the event became formally known as its current name, 'Evo'. Evo 2002 took place on August 2002 at the University of California, Los Angeles. Evo 2004 took place at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in Southern California from July 29 to August 1; the tournament amassed 700 competitors from over 30 countries to compete in over nine different games. The games featured included Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Capcom vs. SNK 2, Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution, Guilty Gear XX, Soulcalibur II, Tekken 4, Tekken Tag Tournament.
Evo 2004 used home consoles for most of their tournament games instead of arcade cabinets, with the only exception being 3rd Strike which used the more traditional arcade cabinets. Evo 2004 was the birthplace of 'Evo Moment #37'. During the Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike tournament, Daigo Umehara, while facing Justin Wong parried one of Chun-Li's 'Super Moves' while having little health left and countered with his own, winning the match; this highlight became influential within the fighting game community. 2005 was the first year Evo was held at the Green Valley Ranch hotel in Las Vegas. Evo 2006 took place at Casino in Las Vegas. 2006 was the first year that Capcom gave its public support of the Evolution tournaments. Traditionally, Evo has only included fighting games, but in 2006 it included Mario Kart DS in its lineup. Evo 2007 called Evo World 2007, took place from August 24 to 26 at the Green Valley Ranch, in Las Vegas. Throughout the year there were several other tournaments held throughout the US bearing the Evo name.
The game roster had eight games, Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, Capcom vs. SNK 2, Virtua Fighter 5, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Street Fighter II Turbo, Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection, Guilty Gear XX Λ Core, Super Smash Bros. Melee. Evo 2008 took place at the Tropicana Las Vegas on the Las Vegas Strip. From August 8 to 10; the tournament would feature six games within its official roster: Capcom vs. SNK 2, Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection, Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Marvel vs. Capcom 2; the Brawl tournament was criticized for its ruleset, which allowed items on and saw a unknown player defeat Ken. Evo 2008 allowed attendees a preview of BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, Street Fighter IV, Super Street Fighter II TurboHD Remix, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. Evo 2009 took place on July 17 to 19. Held at the Rio Convention Center, in Las Vegas, the tournament itself would feature six game in its official roster: Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix and Street Fighter IV.
Notably, the newly released Street Fighter IV increased Evo attendance by a considerable margin, the tournament for it alone boasted more than 1000 participants three times that of the tournaments for the other games. Evo 2010, held at Caesars Palace from July 9, 2010 through July 11, 2010 had a massive number of competitors, with Super Street Fighter IV amassing 1,800 players to duel for a $20,000 guaranteed prize pot. Most notable in this EVO was Justin Wong cementing his dominance in Marvel vs. Capcom 2 in its proverbial swan song, defeating the champion of the previous year, Sanford Kelly. Notable was Wong failing to make the top 8 in Super Street Fighter IV, falling victim first to Vance 'Vangief' Wu, soon after to Taiwanese player Bruce 'GamerBee' Hsiang. Melty Blood: Actress Again was included after a poll on Shoryuken.com to decide on the final game of the tournament, beating out Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, Capcom vs. SNK 2, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Soulcalibur IV, The King of Fighters XII.
BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger was to be included, but after a majority of the community moved on to BlazBlue: Continuum Shift, the decision was made to replace it with Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Notable was G4's limited coverage of the event offering X-Play host Adam Sessler for commentary of the Super Street Fighter IV finals. For Evo 2011, a tournament season was announced in which players could earn rank
Lee Seon-woo, known as Infiltration, is a professional electronic sports player from Seoul, South Korea, specializing in fighting games. Lee is a six-time Evolution Championship Series champion. Infiltration first started playing fighting games with the home release of Street Fighter IV, but he offered tips for players hoping to raise their skill level; the 'Infiltration' name comes from the Metal Gear Solid series. Lee uses a bat-top joystick due to the first FightStick he bought was coincidentally a bat-top joystick sold for 2,000 yen. Lee chose Akuma in Street Fighter IV. Lee's main focus is physical training instead of in-game practice. Lee is the winner of the Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Grand Finals for both Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition v2012 and Street Fighter X Tekken and won $25,000 for each game; the former event saw Lee win against Mad Catz's Daigo Umehara 6-0. Because he won the latter, Lee received a one of a kind Street Fighter-based Scion FR-S Coupe. Lee won the Capcom Cup 2013 Street Fighter X Tekken tournament in which he was invited to by Capcom.
In March, Lee qualified for the Capcom Pro Tour Asia Finals by winning Nine States Tournament 2015. In late May, Lee qualified for Capcom Cup 2015 by placing Top 3 at Stunfest 2015. Lee's opponents in Top 3, Momochi and Umehara have qualified thus giving Lee the qualifying spot by default. Lee is known for having a defensive playstyle as determined by Justin Wong's Step Up Your Game series. On January 16, 2015, Eventhubs ranked Lee at #6 on their Top 50 Ultra Street Fighter IV players list. Lee is known for creating an outstanding comeback against Eduardo 'PR Balrog' Perez in the Losers Semis at EVO 2013 Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition v2012, where he counterpicked Perez's Balrog with Hakan. Lee qualified for the 2014 Capcom Cup by winning CEO 2014 in an exciting battle against Evil Geniuses' Yusuke Momochi. Momochi would defeat Lee at Capcom Cup 2014 resulting in the latter to get a 4th-place finish; because of his performances in 2012, Lee has been called 'Player of the Year' by many including Capcom.
However, in late 2013, Lee saw a small decline. Overall, Lee still manages to perform well in tournaments he enters making Top 4. A controversy regarding 2015's Capcom Pro Tour circuit came up regarding Lee, with some labeling him as a 'gatekeeper' due to visiting multiple CPT events despite qualifying for Capcom Cup. Lee stated in an interview that his intention was not to gatekeep, but instead to practice before the Capcom Cup begins in December. Lee states that Street Fighter V is going in a good direction, as he thinks that making the game offense-oriented will make it faster and better. On November 15, 2015 Infiltration signed with Team Razer. Lee was born on 23 March 1985 in Seoul, he has two brothers. In mid-2014, Lee had to sell the one-of-a-kind Scion FR-S Coupe he won because of high maintenance issues; this was the same car Lee had to earn his drivers license for, just so he could drive it. On October 22, 2017, Lee was arrested in a domestic violence dispute with his then-wife. A South Korean court ruled against Lee on November 30, 2017.
Panda Global, Lee's sponsoring team, learned about the assault in September 2018 and withdrew Lee from all upcoming tournaments at the time. He was fired from the team on November 2018 after Panda Global obtained his court records. Justin Wong is a Chinese-American professional fighting game player. His name is sometimes shortened to just Jwong. Wong has won more Evolution Championship Series titles than anyone else, including eight titles with the Marvel vs. Capcom series. Wong was well known for a recording of a match of his in the Evolution Championship Series 2004 Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike losers bracket final where, using Chun-Li he lost to a dramatic comeback against Daigo Umehara's Ken Masters, when Daigo managed to parry every single hit of Chun-Li's super art II and landing a max damage combo. Wong took part in GameStop's Street Fighter IV US National Tournament in 2009. After the main tournament, a set of special exhibition matches of Street Fighter IV took place in San Francisco, California, on April 18 after the actual competition ended, it featured Iyo who had won the Japanese National SFIV tournament, Poongko who won the Korean SFIV National Tournament, Daigo Umehara who came by Capcom's invitation, Wong himself.
Wong lost to Umehara who went on to win the tournament. He was awarded a tournament seed at Evolution 2009 in Las Vegas. Wong gained more fame after the footage of his matches in GameStop's competition were spread on the internet; as of July 19, 2009, the video of the match against Umehara received 80,000 hits on Niconico video sharing site. For winning the US GameStop tournament, Wong started his Street Fighter IV competition as a seeded player in the semi-finals on July 18, the second day of Evo 2009, he had to start the next day by playing against Daigo Umehara. In the third and the last day, Umehara defeated Wong and put him into the Losers Bracket advanced to the grand finals just to meet Wong again. In the final showdown, Wong changed his character from Abel to Balrog to counter Umehara's signature Ryu; the two fought until the last game possible. It was this point of the tournament. Wong joined a tournament called Seasons Beatings on October 16 -- 18 in Ohio, he participated in the Street Fighter IV 3 on 3 on the second day with two teammates and won 1st place.
There was Daigo Umehara which he lost by two games to ten. For Street Fighter IV Singles, who this time chose to play Fei Long, won in the Winners Bracket's final against Umehara, he lost to Umehara after Umehara bounced back from the Loser's Bracket. In June 2010, Wong left the competitive gaming group Empire Arcadia and signed with professional gaming organization Evil Geniuses with Martin 'Marn' Phan and was joined by Ricki Ortiz. Wong won the Marvel vs Capcom 2 tournament coming out of the loser's bracket, he placed just out of the top 8 in Super Street Fighter IV, losing to Bruce 'Gamerbee' Hsiang in an exciting match. Wong participated in the reality show WCG Ultimate Gamer, he made it as far as the Gauntlet, but was eliminated during the Forza Motorsport 3 driving challenge. Wong stormed through the tournament without losing a set up until the grand finals where he won the tournament and the $10,000 1st prize using Kung Lao, playing against Floe's Ermac in the finals. In 2015, Wong was announced be participating in the Red Bull Kumite 2016 Street Fighter V invitational tournament.

A double-elimination tournament is a type of elimination tournament competition in which a participant ceases to be eligible to win the tournament's championship upon having lost two games or matches. It stands in contrast to a single-elimination tournament, in which only one defeat results in elimination. One method of arranging a double-elimination tournament is to break the competitors into two sets of brackets, the winners bracket and losers bracket after the first round; the first-round winners proceed into the W bracket and the losers proceed into the L bracket. The W bracket is conducted in the same manner as a single-elimination tournament, except that the losers of each round 'drop down' into the L bracket. Another method of double-elimination tournament management is the Process; as with single-elimination tournaments, most the number of competitors is equal to a power of two so that in each round there is an number of competitors and never any byes. The maximum number of games in a double-elimination tournament is one less than twice the number of teams participating.
Aug 26, 2016 What you feel is wrong. The only way to increase the damage of minions is minion damage on skill tree and auras you might possess.(also some other indirect ways) The spell part of the skill, refers to the casting of the skill, which is a spell, but not affected by spell modifiers. The explosion is not affected by modifiers to spell damage and cannot be reflected.
The minimum number is two less than twice the number of teams. If the standard double-elimination bracket arrangement is being used each round of the L Bracket is conducted in two stages. Both contain the same number of matches, the same again as the number of matches in the corresponding round of the W Bracket. If the minor stage of an L Bracket round contains N matches, it will produce N winners. Meanwhile, the N matches; these 2N competitors will pair off in the N matches of the corresponding major stage of the L Bracket. For example, in an eight-competitor double-elimination tournament, the four losers of the first round, W Bracket quarter finals, pair off in the first stage of the L Bracket, the L Bracket minor semifinals; the two losers are eliminated. Here, those two players/teams will each compete against a loser of the W Bracket semifinal in the L Bracket major semifinals; the winners of the L Bracket major semifinals compete against each other in the L Bracket minor-final, with the winner playing the loser of the W Bracket final in the L Bracket major final.
The championship finals of a double elimination tournament is set up to be a possible two games. The rationale is that since the tournament is indeed double elimination, it is unfair to have the W Bracket champion eliminated with its first loss. Therefore, while the W Bracket champion needs to beat the L Bracket champion only once to win the tournament, the L Bracket champion must beat the Winners' Bracket champion twice. A Draw and Process tournament requires less intervention by the manager; the competitors are allocated their first round positions on the competition grid and this is played as if it were a single elimination event. This grid is called the 'Draw'. A second competition grid called the 'Process' is produced and again played as a single elimination event; the fixed arrangement of the Process ensures that players who met in the first round of the Draw cannot meet until the final of the Process. Players who meet in the second round of the Draw cannot meet until the semi finals of the Process.
If the same person wins both the Draw and Process they are the overall winner and the losing finalists will play each other for second and third place. Otherwise the winners of the Draw and Process will play off to determine the winner; the double-elimination format has some advantages over the single-elimination format, most notably the fact that third and fourth places can be determined without the use of a consolation or 'classification' match involving two contestants who have been eliminated from winning the championship. Some tournaments, such as in tennis, will use 'seeding' to prevent the strongest contestants from meeting until the round. However, in tournaments where contestants are placed randomly in the draw, or in situations where seeding is not available, it is possible for 2 of the strongest teams to meet in the early rounds rather than a final or semifinal as would be expected in a seeded draw. Double elimination overcomes this shortfall by allowing a strong team which loses early to work their way through the L Bracket and progress to the rounds, despite meeting the strongest team in the early rounds of competition.
Another advantage of the double-elimination format is the fact that all competitors will play at least twice and three quarters will play three games or more. In a single-elimination tournament with no byes, half of the competitors will be eliminated after their first game; this can be disappointing to those who had to travel to the tournament and were only able to play once. A disadvantage compared to the single-elimination format is that at least twice the number of matches have to be conducted. Since each player has to lose twice and since the tournament ends when only one player remains, in a tournament for n competitors there will be either 2n − 2 or 2n − 1 games depending on whether or not the winner was undefeated during the tournament; this may result in a scheduling hardship for venues. It is possible for the Championship finals to be determined by just a single match if the W Bracket winner defeats the L Bracket winner, it is therefore unknown, until this match has been concluded, whether the final scheduled match will in fact be required.
This can be seen as a disadvantage of the system if broadcasting and
The Las Vegas Valley is a major metropolitan area in the southern part of the U. S. state of Nevada. The state's largest urban agglomeration, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Statistical Area is coextensive since 2003 with Clark County, Nevada; the Valley is defined by the Las Vegas Valley landform, a 600 sq mi basin area surrounded by mountains to the north, south and west of the metropolitan area. The Valley is home to the three largest incorporated cities in Nevada: Las Vegas and North Las Vegas. Eleven unincorporated towns governed by the Clark County government are part of the Las Vegas Township and constitute the largest community in the state of Nevada; the names Las Vegas and Vegas are interchangeably used to indicate the Valley, the Strip, the city, as a brand by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority to denominate the region. The Valley is affectionately known as the 'ninth island' by Hawaii natives and Las Vegans alike, in part due to the large number of people from Hawaii who live in and travel to Las Vegas.
Since the 1990s the Las Vegas Valley has seen rapid growth, tripling its population of 741,459 in 1990 to 2,227,053 estimated in 2018. The Las Vegas Valley remains one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the United States, in its short history has established a diverse presence in international business, urban development and entertainment, as well as one of the most visited tourist destinations in the world. In 2014, a record breaking 41 million visited the Las Vegas area, producing a gross metropolitan product of more than $100 billion; the first reported non-Native American visitor to the Las Vegas Valley was the Mexican scout Rafael Rivera in 1829. Las Vegas was named by Mexicans in the Antonio Armijo party, including Rivera, who used the water in the area while heading north and west along the Old Spanish Trail from Texas. In the 19th century, areas of the valley contained artesian wells that supported extensive green areas, or meadows, hence the name Las Vegas; the area was settled by Mormon farmers in 1854 and became the site of a United States Army fort in 1864, beginning a long relationship between southern Nevada and the U.

S. military. Since the 1930s, Las Vegas has been identified as a gaming center as well as a resort destination targeting adults. Nellis Air Force Base is located in the northeast corner of the valley; the ranges that the Nellis pilots use and various other land areas used by various federal agencies, limit growth of the valley in terms of geographic area. Businessman Howard Hughes arrived in the late 1960s and purchased many casino hotels, as well as television and radio stations in the area. Legitimate corporations began to purchase casino hotels as well, the mob was run out by the federal government over the next several years; the constant stream of tourist dollars from the hotels and casinos was augmented by a new source of federal money from the establishment of what is now Nellis Air Force Base. The influx of military personnel and casino job-hunters helped start a land building boom, now leveling off; the Las Vegas area remains one of the world's top entertainment destinations. The valley is contained in the Las Vegas Valley landform.
This includes the cities of Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, the unincorporated towns of Summerlin South, Spring Valley, Sunrise Manor, Enterprise and Whitney. The valley is technically located within the larger metropolitan area, as the metropolitan area covers all of Clark County including parts that do not fall within the valley; the government of Clark County has an 'Urban Planning Area' of Las Vegas. This definition is a rectangular area, about 20 mi from east to west and 30 miles from north to south. Notable exclusions from the 'Urban Planning Area' include Red Rock, Blue Diamond, Mount Charleston; the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is the largest police department in the valley and the state and exercises jurisdiction in the entire county. There are 3,000 police officers that cover the city of Las Vegas; the department does not exercise primary jurisdiction in areas with separate police forces such as North Las Vegas, Boulder City, Nellis Air Force Base and the Paiute reservation.
The metropolitan area was created for the 1970 census. In 2000, the metropolitan area was changed to include Nye County and Mohave County, but it returned to only being Clark County; the Office of Management and Budget has designated Clark County as the Las Vegas-Henderson-Paradise, NV Metropolitan Statistical Area. The United States Census Bureau ranked the Las Vegas-Henderson-Paradise, NV Metropolitan Statistical Area as the 31st most populous metropolitan statistical area of the United States as of July 1, 2012; the Office of Management and Budget has further designated the Las Vegas-Henderson-Paradise, NV Metropolitan Statistical Area as a component of the more extensive Las Vegas–Henderson, NV–AZ CSA, the 27th most populous combined statistical area and the 30th most populous primary statistical area of the United States as of July 1, 2012. The Las Vegas Valley lies in the Mojave Desert; the valley in the northwest section is a northwest-by-southeast trending area, trending parallel to Las Vegas Wash, lies at the northeast of the Spring Mountainsmassif.
U. S. Route 95 leaves Las Vegas's northwest and goes northwesterly through the northwest valley section, with Las Vegas Wash about 2 miles northeast. U. S. 95 lies on the sout

St John the Baptist, now the Christ Apostolic Church, is a grade II listed building at 23 Highgate Road, Kentish Town, London. The site was the location of an ancient chapel-of-ease, replaced in 1783 with a church designed by the architect James Wyatt; that church was in turn rebuilt in 1843-45 by James Hakewill although the nave walls and apse of the original church were reused in the new church. The church became redundant in 1993 and was used for all-night raves but more it has been taken over by the Christ Apostolic Church UK and is used as a place or worship once more; the church is on Historic England's Heritage at Risk register. Cedric Ernest 'Spike' Howell, was an Australian fighter pilot and flying ace of the First World War. Born in Adelaide, South Australia, he enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force in 1916 for service in the First World War and was posted to the 46th Battalion on the Western Front. In November 1916, he was accepted for a transfer to the Royal Flying Corps and was shipped to the United Kingdom for flight training. Graduating as a pilot, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant and posted to No. 45 Squadron RFC in France during October 1917. Howell spent eight months flying operations over Italy, conducting attacks against ground targets and engaging in sorties against aerial forces. While in Italy, he was credited with shooting down a total of nineteen aircraft. In one particular sortie on 12 July 1918, Howell attacked, in conjunction with one other aircraft, a formation of between ten and fifteen German machines, he had been awarded the Military Cross and Distinguished Flying Cross for his gallantry in operations over the front.
He was posted back to the United Kingdom in July 1918. In 1919, Howell was killed while taking part in the England to Australia air race. Piloting a Martinsyde A1 aircraft, he attempted to make an emergency landing on Corfu but the plane fell short, crashing into the sea just off the island's coast. Both Howell and his navigator subsequently drowned. Cedric Ernest Howell was born in Adelaide, South Australia, on 17 June 1896 to Ernest Howell, an accountant, his wife Ida Caroline, he was educated at the Melbourne Church of England Grammar School from 1909, was active in the school's Cadet unit. On completing his secondary studies in 1913, Howell gained employment as a draughtsman. By 1914, he held a commission in the 49th Cadet Battalion, Citizens Military Force, as a second lieutenant. On the outbreak of the First World War in August 1914, Howell attempted to enlist in the newly raised Australian Imperial Force but was rejected; the following year, he resigned his commission in the Citizens Military Force and re-applied to join the Australian Imperial Force for active service in the war.
Due to his age, Howell was ineligible for a commission in the force and was instead granted the rank of private. Allotted to the 16th Reinforcements of the 14th Battalion, he embarked aboard HMAT Anchises in Melbourne, Victoria, on 14 March. Arriving in France, he was posted to the newly raised 46th Battalion on 20 May and promoted to corporal four days later. While the unit was engaged in action along the Somme, Howell was temporarily raised to sergeant in July, before taking part in the Battle of Pozières the following month, he reverted to lance corporal in August. Considered an expert shot, Howell had been trained as a sniper during his service with the 46th Battalion. On 11 November 1916, Howell was among a group of 200 Australian applicants selected for a transfer to the Royal Flying Corps to undergo flight training. Shipped to the United Kingdom, he was posted to No. 1 Royal Flying Officers' Cadet Battalion at Durham for his initial instruction. On graduating as a pilot, he was formally discharged from the Australian Imperial Force on 16 March 1917 and commissioned as a probationary second lieutenant in the Royal Flying Corps the following day.
Howell was posted to No. 17 Reserve Squadron in April. Appointed a flight officer on 25 July, he was attached to the Central Flying School for duties. On 12 September, Howell wed Cicely Elizabeth Hallam Kilby in a ceremony at St Stephen's Anglican Church, Bush Hill Park. In October 1917, Howell was posted to No. 45 Squadron RFC in France. Just prior to joining the unit, Howell had suffered a bout of malaria while still in England giving him a 'tall and dismal looking' appearance, his service over the Western Front was short-lived, however, as the squadron moved to Italy in late December. While operating over the Italian Front, Howell was engaged in both aerial combat missions and ground-attack sorties, which included 'destroy enemy transport crossing the Alps'. On 1 April 1918, the Royal Flying Corps and Royal Naval Air Service were combined to form the Royal Air Force, with personnel from the former services transferred to the new branch. Throughout the first half of 1918, Howell conducted several raids on ground targets, including one on an electrical power plant.
From a height of 100 feet, with 'great skill', scored three direct hits with his bombs on the facility. He was active in aerial engagements against Central aircraft during this period, achieving flying ace status early in the year. During a particular patrol with two other members of his squadron on 13 May, the trio intercepted a party of twelve rival planes. In the ensuring battle, Howell 'carried out a most dashing attack', being credited with the destruction of three of the aircraft and with driving a fourth down out of control, despite suffering 'frequent jams in both of his machine guns'. Cited for his 'conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty' in carrying out ground-attack missions, coupled with his destruction of seven Central aircraft, Howell was awarded the Military Cross; the announcement of the decoration was promogulated in a supplement to the London Gazette on 16 September 1918. Promoted to temporary captain on 1 June 1918, Howell led a party of three machines out on patrol eight days later.
The trio spotted a formation of six
