The exact opposite applies in case of a loss.In other words, in order to achieve a higher rank after placement matches, you must win the early matches. When you're in placement matches, this limit is basically removed and you will be forcibly matched with people of considerably higher/lower rank on both sides and as a result gain/lose much more Elo Points. For instance, winning the first 3 matches in row and getting the 10 wins with 4 total losses will give you a higher rank than losing the first 3 matches in row and getting the 10 wins with 4 total losses.Here's an example, when a Silver IV solo queues, he will always find matches with close skill groups on both sides (friendly and enemies). A Silver IV can NEVER be matched even against a single MG2 on the enemy team. However, if he queues with an Eagle it will be possible. 
When I power on this DMG-01 (with a known-good game cartridge installed), the power LED comes on, it shows 2 to 4 horizontal (not vertical) lines towards the center of the screen, and that's it. There's a slight 'pop' from the speaker as well. The contrast wheel doesn't change anything.

This interest has been spurred in part by official hardware releases like the NES and SNES Classic Editions, tiny replica consoles that have more in common with your smartphone than with the original hardware. So here's the problem: the stupid power switch keeps cutting the power in and out if it's bumped or jarred in the slightest. Basically if I move my hands too much the thing powers off and will power back on if I bump the switch.

It’s that last one I want to focus on. Nintendo’s retro revival has so far focused mostly on the classic boxes that you hooked to a TV, ignoring the portables that buoyed Nintendo when home consoles like the GameCube and Wii U faltered. But Hyperkin’s backlit Game Boy clone and the (heretofore totally unsubstantiated) rumors about a Game Boy Classic Edition suggest that people want to relive their long childhood car trips just like they want to relive hours in the basement parked in front of a TV and an NES.
If you don’t want to wait around for Nintendo to start re-releasing old portables, the good news is that there’s a vibrant repair and modding scene out there for anyone who wants to make their old Game Boy hardware as good as (or even better than) new. I’ve spent the last month researching the subtle differences between different Game Boy production runs, watching dark blurry YouTube videos, learning to solder, and spending more time crawling through Reddit and forum posts than I care to remember. And I have returned to share my trove of knowledge with you, so you don’t have to try quite as hard to enjoy these old games on the hardware that originally played them.
