I am running iPhoto 6.0.6. If I purchase the upgrade to iPhoto 9.0 for $14.95 from the app store, will I be able to upgrade directly from 6.0.6 to 9.0 without purchasing any other versions in between?

It seems the App Store doesn't offer iPhoto 9.0 for download. I presume purchasing iPhoto '11 (v.9.4.2) for $14.99 isn't going to work..because I know the most advanced version my system can handle is 9.2.3. I'm secretly hoping that if I go for the upgrade to 9.4.2, it'll take me as far as 9.2.3 and just leave me running that version. But, my hunch is the more likely scenario will be that the upgrade/installation will not be completed/fail.
Can you please just confirm that my hunch (as opposed to my 'hope') is correct?

My mac says that OSX 10.6.6 is installed. If I attempt in launch the app store, the icon appears in the dock briefly then disappears. It is the same if its launched from Applications or Apple menu. I tried to uninstall the app store then re- installing 10.6.6 combo but I get an 'Unknown error occurred during the installation of this software..' The App re-appears in the Apps folder but still fails to run. I have checked disk permissions, tried re-installing but the same error persists.

On your iPad tap on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and tap on 'View Apple ID' on the popup and log into your account - that should give you a payments link on your account's page. Or on your computer's iTunes you should be able to edit your payment info by going into the Store > View Account menu option and logging into your account, and on your account's details page there should also be a payment link.

No, they won't. If the phone won't turn on at all, the only way to even attempt to get information off the flash drive would be to turn the whole thing over to one of those data recovery firms like DriveSaver. You're looking at a couple of thousand dollars, at least.
I haven't been able to find any definitive documentation on this. I have a MBP and Mac Pro at work and haven't upgraded either of them to Lion for various reasons. However, I have now been tasked with some App programming and need Lion. So, my question is - If we buy Lion from the App Store will we get a free upgrade to Mountain Lion?

Mountain Lion will be upgradable from Snow Leopard, so if you have not yet purchased Lion then it may be worth it to just wait and not go through two upgrades.

just some notes in addition to Ralphs answer: Your iPad is very useful to browse and show off your photos, i.e. the Retina iPad. You can sync to the iPad via iTunes or using the Photo Stream or a shared Photo Stream. But if you can browse and store all your photos on the iPad, will depend on the available storage on your iPad. Using iTunes you can sync events, albums, faces stacks, places stacks to your iPad. Not many metadata tags will transfer however.

You won't be able to buy Pages from the Mac App Store on 10.6.8. You need to reload it from the original source.

You will need to do apps and books separately. Apple suggests using separate Apple IDs for them. There are far more regulations involved with books than with apps. The short answer to your question is a qualified yes, with more caveats for books than for apps.
I downloaded the iPhoto 9.2.1 update from Mac App Store.
When I try to update from 9.1.5 to 9.2.1, I get the message: 'The version of iPhoto installed on this Mac must be updated through the Mac App Store.'
Since the Mac App Store is where I downloaded the update from, I don't know how exactly to proceed.
Any suggestions?

I have iPhoto 9.1.5 which was installed on my iMac that I received November, 2011.
My wife has the 9.2.1 version of iPhoto on her MacBook Pro which she bought months before I bought my iMac.
My iPhoto library opens fine in 9.1.5 on my iMac but will not open the copy of her iPhoto library that I copied to my iMac. We have two libraries and I want the same one she has instead of two separate libraries.
I went to the Mac App Store and downloaded iPhoto9.2.1 Update.dmg to my desktop.
I then opened the .dmg and clicked on the iPhoto9.2.1Update.pkg.
The install iPhoto Update window started to open briefly before the Alert message 'The version of iPhoto installed on this Mac must be updated through the Mac App Store. Check the Mac App Store to see if an update is available' appeared.

I have a MacBook pro 2011. For some reason i have ended up with 2 Apple ID's i must have forgotten something or i changed my account name from when i first set up the machine. Some apps allow me to upgrade with one but not the other. I have upgraded to Yosemite via a clean install at the Apple store. I have loaded back on my back up but iPhoto isn't there and it has asked me to upgrade via the App store. Unfortunately neither Apple ID's will let me upgrade.
The Message on screen is:
Upgrade unavailable with this Apple ID
This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled
Do i head back to the Apple store and talk with them or is there something i can do at home?

I think you're confusing RAM memory with hard drive memory storage..the two aren't the same.
Although you're being told you need 2GB of RAM to run Mountain Lion..I would consider 4GB the minimum. You should be able to upgrade the RAM in your iMac to 4GB for well under $100.
HELP, HELP, I am having difficulty making a DVD-R of some photos I have in one of my folders in iPhoto 11. I use iPhoto on my external HD. I have never had problems before today making copies of my photos using DVD-R disk. I am doing the same thing that worked before. Some of my photos are going to be put in a gallery for showing and I need to make a DVD so they can choose which ones to display and enlarge the photos. It was due TODAY! Yikes! At the end of each try I get a window saying 'BURN FAILED - The burn to the OPTIARC DVD RW AD-5670S drive failed. The disk drive didn't respond properly and can't recover or retry.' help......
How are you getting the photo onto the disk to burn? Have you tried exporting then to a folder on the Desktop and then burning that folder to disk using the Finder. That will give you a data disk with just the jpeg image files in the folder.
If that's what you're doing and getting the burn failed then it's a system or optical drive issue.
If you're using the Share ➙ Burn menu in iPhoto that will create a disk with a mini iPhoto library on it that can only be used by another Mac running iPhoto.
Can you elaborate on your workflow.

I am getting a similar error message when trying to access the App Store from Belgium, on my Ipad, to update an App called LoungeBuddy and to download an App called Slated, though i was able to download the Numbers update that you can't access??
On my PC, for the Slated App, it says 'This item is temporarily unavailable - please try again later'.
