Downloaded the iso image and proceeded to burn a DMG onto a USB drive's partition. Used the latter to boot my old MacPro 1.1 (two 2.66 GHz, dual-core processors) and installed. My previous attempts with my old 10.5.0 installer had failed, and I was very happy to find this 10.5.4 version which worked perfectly. Not tried this so it may/may not work. If you go into System Prefs (on your new iMac) and enable DVD or CD sharing in the 'Sharing' folder, you may, in the sidebar of your old MacBook be able to see the iMac's CD drive. Putting the install DVD in the iMac then allows you to install onto the MacBook if it all works OK, but as I say not sure of compatibility or features available in Leopard etc and have also just thought you may be installing onto a newly formatted drive in the macBook so won't see anything but could be worth trying. Convert dmg to iso in windows. Open Disk Utility for me. In the Disk Utility app on your Mac, choose Images Convert, select the disk image file you want to convert, then click Open. Click the Image Format pop-up menu, then choose a new image format. Read-only: The disk image can’t be written to, and is quicker to create and open.
