Apr 24, 2016 Natural Weapons So lets say a character has claws for hands and that they are considered natural weapons. The description says these claws deal 1d6 piercing damage, and specifies that the character is proficient with them. I want to get my facts straight. Natural weapon are 'weapons' and therefore not unarmed strikes. Disarm, sunder, and trip are normally the only kinds of combat maneuvers in which you’re actually using a weapon to perform the maneuver, and therefore the weapon’s bonuses apply to the roll. Therefore, if you’re attempting a disarm, sunder, or trip maneuver, you can apply your Dex bonus instead of your Str mod on the combat maneuver check (assuming you’re using a finessable weapon, of course). Apr 17, 2015 Slashing Grace only apples dex to damage on one-handed slashing weapons. The problem with using it for natural weapons is that they are light, not the piercing damage. Swashbuckler's Finesse allows Slashing grace to work with a one handed weapon for finesse, but it doesn't allow the dex to damage. One of the best new class features is Finesse Training, which allows to choose a single finesseable weapon and use Dex instead of Str for the damage bonus at level 3. As above, this damage bonus is halved for the off-hand (though it is also increased to 1.5x for two-handed finesseable weapons. Bow Strength allows Strength for damage bonus with bows. Brutal Throw allows Strength for attack bonus with thrown weapons (but NOT ranged weapons). Past Life: Harbinger of Nature's Wrath allows Wisdom to attack and damage for the summoned Flame Blade. Natural weapon dex to dmg.

Lets take a look at Magic Missile, and a wand (weapon or axe) with a 8-12 damage range, once per second, this results in an average 10 DPS. This is what your weapon reports as DPS, the other stats are there, but in the small print. The weapon damage is the actual damage the weapon has, not DPS.
I don't GET it. That ring isn't very good at all. If I had one right now just sitting around, I wouldn't even use it. WHY does it sell for over 3 Exalts? | Posted by ShadyC on Mar 12, 2013, 11:45:10 AM |
' It's new? I don't quite know myself, but looking over the ring it doesn't seem too bad. It gives all resist, it gives attributes, AND it gives increased % damage. What's not to love? | Posted by KibaArtist on Mar 12, 2013, 11:50:59 AM |
' %increased damage - note: ALL damage; physical, elemental and chaos (!). So it is one of the few possibilities to increase chaos damage for attacks (or for spells as well). And that increased damage can go up to 20%, which is a really strong modifier (i use the Ezomyte Peak on my 2-hander duelist whhich gives 'only' 20% physical damage and it is already a HUGE dps bonus - and Ezomyte has some great drawbacks, while Le Heup is good all around) if you ask me (and you still get a nice resit bonus, all attributes (bot resists and attributes can go up to +20) and increased item rarity, so everything else isn't bad either) Proud 5th duelist in the Jul 1 2012 Ladder Race and in the Nov 3 2012 Solo Turbo Race :D And even prouder 4th Templar in the Nov 10 Four-hour Party Hardcore Race :P Current OB success: top 20 Ranger in 105 Minute Turbo Solo (S4E9) Last edited by Sony_Black on Mar 12, 2013, 12:01:56 PM | Posted by Sony_Black on Mar 12, 2013, 11:59:09 AM |
It has increased rarity, increased damage to all, all resist and stats, it has all usefull stats, it might not be the end end game gear but it is nice gear for farming (since it gives lots of resists and bonus damage) plus its good for lvling. | Posted by on Mar 12, 2013, 12:03:31 PM |
I really like this ring, but I am biased since I like Le Heup. This ring, like many other items may not suit your playstyle or build, but it has a roll in this game. | Posted by Laellu on Mar 12, 2013, 12:07:27 PM |
After you've designed your own unique (and here I mean the general 'you') and understand precisely why you chose what attributes and how it all works, it's that little more disheartening when you see others casually dismiss not only it, but the work of others as well. Naturally, once that item is in-game it's completely open to scrutiny, but you don't really think about when you're designing it. All you're thinking about is what *you* will do with it. I am sure Le Heup had their reasons. Using my sword from Act 1 to Act 10 is the best way to experience the PoE 'story'. That's kinda sad. | Posted by The_Scourge on Mar 12, 2013, 12:20:27 PM |
My Guess. CI EK With added chaos was meant for this ring. Good Resist,Good stat (for extra gem like chaos/added fire or added cold.) and added dmg to all. Also it syrnegises real well with the new unique to make a low life build. x2 Le heup + x 2 redbeak + pain attunement = + 270% to whatever spell you want to use it for. | Posted by on Mar 12, 2013, 12:25:00 PM |
It doesn't do anything spectacular, it's just a nice ring in a very generic sort of way. That makes it useful for pretty much any build. The low level requirement also makes it a great item for using temporarily on your second, third, fourth etc character as you level them up. So there's high demand, which drives the cost up. | Posted by Incompetent on Mar 12, 2013, 12:27:02 PM |
Grab two of these Rings (they boost ALL kinds of damage), Facebreaker and either that Shield or Quiver boosting Physical Damage as well as that Belt, and do an Unarmed Cyclone-build :D Alexis *smiles* =@[.]@= boggled =~[.]^= naughty wink | Posted by on Mar 12, 2013, 12:33:12 PM |
' Cant facebreaker + quiver anymore. Dual le heup + angelic kite shield with + resist mod should massively deal with resist need. IGN : DCDTDito | Posted by on Mar 12, 2013, 2:37:17 PM |

TAIPEI--For years there was a clear divide: Taiwanese contract manufacturers made all the world's well-known tablets like Apple Inc.'s AAPL,
H-P, the world's largest personal computer maker by shipments, chose Chinese firm BYD Electronic (International) Co. (0285.HK) to manufacture its new Android tablet called the Slate 7, said people familiar with the project. It's an unusual departure from the industry practice of relying almost solely on Taiwanese contract manufacturers, and an example of how Chinese companies are starting to become more serious competitors.
Shenzhen-based BYD Co. (1211.HK) is better-known for making electric cars and batteries, but over the past few years it's been quietly building up electronics production expertise in its subsidiary BYD Electronic. Berkshire Hathaway bought a near-10% stake in BYD Co. in 2008, in Warren Buffett's highest-profile investment in China so far.
Virtually every previous big-brand tablet that wasn't produced in-house has been contracted out to a Taiwanese company, such as Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. (2317.TW), Quanta Computer Inc. (2382.TW), Compal Electronics Inc. (2324.TW), or Pegatron Corp. (4938.TW). These companies were seen as having both the technology and the scale to carry out these projects at attractive prices.
But when H-P decided to make a low-cost tablet to vie with Google Inc.'s GOOG,
'BYD is getting quite serious about tablets,' said UBS analyst Arthur Hsieh. 'They are starting to get quite well-recognized clients. However, it's unlikely to be a major competitor to Taiwanese contract manufacturers, as BYD lacks the experience and scale.'

The Slate 7, H-P's first Android tablet, was launched last month and undercuts by $30 the price of the Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire HD, which were made by Taiwanese contract manufacturers. The lower $169 price comes with some tradeoffs in specs such as screen resolution, but H-P has been playing up the tablet's sound quality with embedded Beats Audio.

BYD declined to confirm whether H-P is a tablet customer. 'BYD is actively expanding its tablet computer business, but cannot provide any specifics at the moment,' it said in a statement.
'Suppliers for the Slate 7 offered the best quality and cost solution for the product,' H-P said in a statement.
H-P also turned to a Chinese supplier for the Slate 7's processor - Fuzhou Rockchip Electronics Co. - instead of big-name U.S. chipmakers like Qualcomm Inc. (QCOMM) and Nvidia Corp. NVDA,

Fears of the rise of Chinese rivals have circulated in Taiwan's tech industry ever since Taiwanese firms moved factories en masse to China during the early 2000s in pursuit of lower costs Taiwanese executives have tried to prevent the leak of trade secrets by keeping their Chinese factory-floor workers from being promoted into high-level positions. But there has still been conflict. Foxconn International Holdings Ltd., a subsidiary of Taiwan's Hon Hai, sued BYD in 2007, accusing the Chinese firm of hiring away employees and stealing trade secrets in a case that is still ongoing.

Sanford C Bernstein analyst Alberto Moel said that while Chinese firms like BYD are still far from becoming a major threat to Taiwanese contract manufacturing giants, they are rapidly advancing their technological capabilities.
'The Chinese players haven't had a lot of traction in the past, but they are moving up the knowledge curve,' he said 'They will be a bigger force, especially outside of traditional PCs.'
Acer Inc (2353.TW) President Jim Wong said Monday there is growing interest in alternative component suppliers, as the fierce price competition for tablets sends manufacturers in search of lower-cost solutions. Acer also opted not to use a big-name processor for its low-priced Iconia B1 tablet, choosing instead a more economical chip from Taiwanese firm MediaTek Inc. (2454.TW).
The growing popularity of low-cost tablets prompted research firm IDC to raise its 2013 forecast for global tablet shipments to 1909 million units from a previous forecast of 172.4 million units. That translates to a 56% growth this year compared with 2012.
